I’m Chef Bama, or Chef Le Bama if you prefer, hailing from the heartland of Alabama. At the tender age of 18, I embarked on a journey far removed from the conventional path most high school graduates envision: I was deployed to Iraq in the name of freedom. While my initial aspirations were firmly rooted in pursuing a college education, life had other plans. It’s truly amazing how God used that culture shock to transform my life and open my mind in ways I never thought possible—ways that college alone might not have been able to. Through this unexpected journey, I discovered the transformative power of the culinary arts.

The time I spent immersed in the culture of Iraq broadened my view and deepened my connections with people in ways that traditional schooling just couldn’t match. Through my passion for food, I built lasting relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds, shattering my preconceived notions about global attitudes towards Americans. Contrary to my initial beliefs, I found that there are extraordinary people everywhere, and the most genuine connections are often made through the universal language of food.

I’m dedicated to bringing you as many tasty recipes and flavors as possible! I firmly believe that expanding our palates not only enhances our personal experiences but also fosters global unity.
